“Hue-Feel” was an audience participatory art installation I devised and programmed in Quartz Composer exploring color-sound-concept associations. This was done as part of my studies at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

The room was lit solid color with 4 synced diffused digital projectors. 7 performers stood in front of the audience and counted down 1 number each from 8, the first audience member to shout out 1 was chosen to stand in the space and await further instruction. A computerized voice instructed the participant to explore the space. As they moved the room’s color and atmospheric sounds corresponded to where they stood. The performance concluded by asking the participant to express increasingly complex or abstract feelings through their physical placement, revealing associations between sound, color, and emotion.
